You have less than two weeks to enter The Your Street Live Challenge for this year’s version.

This competition is inspired by Design Indaba, multifaceted platform committed to a better world through creativity.

The Your Street Live Challenge is the biggest and most prestigious Your Street Challenge to date. Creators of the most inspiring ideas will get to pitch their ideas before a live jury at a special Your Street event during Design Indaba in Cape Town on 27 February 2013. Winners will take their share of the R1million on offer to make their ideas a reality and create positive social change in their communities.

Further, The Your Street Challenge is about seeing the possibilities and potential of urban spaces. It’s about being in touch with the needs of the community and thinking creatively to make urban spaces smarter, safer, healthier and more sustainable for everyone who uses it.

Your Street is calling for entries in its latest challenge – Your Street Live. With successful projects already on the streets of Cape Town, Johannesburg and Eindhoven, Your Street is looking to accelerate this phenomenon by investing R1million in streets around the world. Anyone, anywhere can submit their ideas and become a catalyst for change in their corner of the world!

“Quite simply Your Street is about enhancing what is right in front of you: your street” says Ravi Naidoo, the founder of Design Indaba. “It’s about walking the talk and reinvigorating your own community with the kind of creativity that improves lives – be it through encouraging people to change a bad habit, recycle more or cycle to work, or simply to make people smile, increasing the community’s ‘Gross Domestic Happiness’.”

Entries close on 28 January 2013. Proposals can be submitted through the online entry form at www.yourstreetchallenge.org.
